Early Achievers: Excellence in Washington Early Learning

Raising the Bar for Every Child

At The Little Genius World, we participate in Early Achievers, Washington state’s Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS). This program helps us create safe, supportive, and high-quality environments where children get the strong early learning experiences they need to succeed in school and in life.

The Five Pillars of Quality

Unlike standard programs, we focus on the five main areas defined by the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) to make a positive difference in development:

  • Learning Environment: Designing spaces that are safe, healthy, and inviting.
  • Child Outcomes: Monitoring progress to ensure every child is reaching their milestones.
  • Interactions and Curriculum: Implementing research-based teaching that honors diversity and inclusion.
  • Family Engagement: Building strong partnerships with parents to support the child’s growth.
  • Professional Development: Ensuring our staff stays at the forefront of early childhood education.

Understanding Quality Levels

Every licensed program in Washington starts at Level 1. Through the Quality Recognition Cycle, we earn points to move up to Level 5. These levels show our commitment to continuous improvement:

  • Levels 1-2: Building the foundation and meeting all licensing requirements.

  • Level 3: Achieving a high-quality standard through professional evaluations and video highlights.

  • Levels 4-5: Demonstrating exceptional quality in teaching practices and specialized curriculum.

Our Vision

To provide equal access to an anti-racist and welcoming early learning setting where every child and family in Washington can thrive.

Commitment to Equity & Dual Language

We believe in breaking down systemic barriers. Our participation in Early Achievers includes a focus on:

  • Anti-Racist Policy: Creating an environment that is culturally responsive and centers on racial equity.

  • Dual Language Learning: Supporting multilingual children to ensure they develop literacy and culture in both their home language and English.
